    On the slopes of the imposing Huascarán snow-capped mountain, 58 kilometers north of Huaraz, 25 min. Approximately by car you will find the city of Yungay (2,458 m). Its name etymologically comes from the word “Yunga”, which means warm. This city was completely rebuilt after the 1970 earthquake, and today it is a large cemetery. The ancient city of Yungay is located just 1.5 km from the new city. Now it is a modern and peaceful city, at the same time it is the point to visit the Llanganuco lagoons, which are 25 km away.

    Departure

    09:30am Departure to the south of Huaraz. We will enter the Huascarán National Park through the Pachacoto detour, approximately 1 hour from Huaraz.

    1st stop
