The Cordillera Blanca is characterized by clear, sunny days during the dry season.
Although the nights are clear, they are also usually cold, even colder than cloudy nights.
During the dry season, also known as the Andean summer, rain can sometimes occur during the day and night.
For a visit to Chavín de Huántar, it is best to go between April and September. This is the dry season, and while there may be some rain, it will be minimal. Another important aspect is that the dry season offers incredible photo opportunities of the site and its surrounding landscape. However, this tour can be enjoyed year-round.
Generally, the tour is suitable for children as the route is not difficult; however, for seniors, we recommend contacting us so we can adapt the tour to their needs. Transportation goes directly to the citadel because the tour is very easy.
It’s a very easy hike. Suitable for everyone, but you should always be mindful of the altitude and plan accordingly, such as bringing altitude sickness medication. If you feel unwell, don’t hesitate to contact your local guide as soon as possible.
