The Cordillera Blanca is characterized by clear, sunny days during the dry season.
Although the nights are clear, they are also usually cold, even colder than cloudy nights.
During the dry season, also known as the Andean summer, rain can sometimes occur during the day and night.
For a visit to Laguna Parón, it is best to go between April and September. During this period, it is the dry season, and while there may be some rain, it will be minimal. Another important point is that during the dry season you can take incredible photos of the lagoon and its surrounding landscape. However, the lagoon can be visited year-round.
Generally, the hike is suitable for children aged 9 and up, as the trail is not difficult. For seniors, please contact us so we can adapt the tour to their needs. Transportation goes directly to the lagoon, as the tour is very easy.
It is of medium difficulty. It is suitable for anyone in reasonable physical condition, but we must always be mindful of the altitude and plan accordingly, such as taking food or altitude sickness medication.
The price is S/5.00 per person, this may change as Huascarán National Park is in the process of charging fees in the future, the cost will be S/. 15 for Peruvians and S/.30 for foreigners.
Lake Parón is a lake in Peru located in the province of Huaylas in the department of Ancash. With a surface area of 1,480,489 m², it is the largest natural freshwater reservoir in the Cordillera Blanca and the Ancash region.
Comfortable, warm clothing, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat or cap, a backpack or bag to carry your belongings, water (preferably in a reusable bottle), and cash to buy food along the way or at the lagoon and for boat rides.
It was our first adventure in Huaraz, and from that day on, we knew it had been a good choice. The long bus ride was more than compensated for by the incredible scenery we arrived at. The bus drops you off almost at the edge of the lagoon, so the surprise is almost immediate. The photos speak for themselves.
