    TRAVEL PROGRAM

    Departure

    05:00 am. Departure from Huaraz in full or shared transportation to the north of the Huaylas alley to Yungay where we will enter the Huascarán National Park.

    NOTE: Each client must bring their own snack since there is no lunch stop, they can bring fruits, sandwiches, water, chocolates, snacks, etc.

    Breakfast

    Breakfast at a tourist restaurant in Huashao near the PNH. Upon entering the Huascarán National Park we will enter the Llangancuco ravine and the Chinancocha and Orconcocha lagoons where we will make a brief stop at the Chinancocha lagoon for 10 minutes to take the respective photos, then we will continue our journey until we reach Cebollapampa where we will begin the trekking of approximately 3 hours of ascent and 2 hours of descent, enjoying the beauty of the landscape and admiring its beauty under the mountains.

    In lagoon 69 you will be able to appreciate the majesty of the snow-capped Chacraraju at 6,108 meters above sea level.

    Return to Cebollapampa where the car will wait for us, we will return to Huaraz along the same route. at 06:00 pm approx.

    For this place, since the tour starts at 5:00 am, you will not be able to eat your breakfast at your hotel, so the transportation will stop around 7:00 am in a small town before reaching the Huascaran National Park control. It is very important for this tour, it is advisable to bring snacks and drinks for the tour. Since there are no restaurants during the route.

    To visit Laguna 69, it is preferably recommended to do so between the months of April to September. Since during this period we are in the dry season and there may be rain, but minimal. Another important aspect is that in the dry season you can take incredible photos of the place and the entire landscape environment; however, this lagoon can be visited all year round.

     

    5Can you go with children to Laguna 69?

    Generally, if you can do the walk with children from 12 years old, the route is not technical but the distance and the climb is extinct, so you need to have good training; In the case of older adults, we recommend contacting us so we can adapt the tour according to their needs.     It has a medium difficulty. It is suitable for all those who have a regular physical condition but we must always be careful with the altitude to plan for food or take pills for altitude. Unlike other destinations, this circuit does not present major difficulties, its access is easy, the path is very marked and the slope changes are not steep. But it is very important to have good acclimatization and physical condition.

    Located 96 km from Huaraz. The best option to visit this lagoon with azure waters is through a travel agency. The lagoon is located at an altitude of 4570 meters above sea level. In its surroundings you can see the snow-capped mountains Chacraraju (6112 meters above sea level), Pisco (5752 meters above sea level), and Yanapaqcha (5460 meters above sea level).

     

    9WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BRING?

      • Cap for the cold, buff and hat for the sun.
      • Sunglasses.
      • Wool gloves (you can buy in Huaraz for a value of S/. 10.00).
      • Sunscreen and lip balm.
      • Trekking pants, long-sleeved synthetic polo shirts (not cotton), windbreaker and an extra jacket for the cold.
      • High-top trekking footwear resistant to water and rough terrain.
      • Camera.
      • Pills for altitude sickness and coca leaves.
      • Extra food (cookies, chocolates, fruits, etc.).
      • Take your ID or Passport.

    10WHAT SHOULD I NOT DO IN LAGUNA 69?

      1. Do not leave garbage on the road, especially because you damage the habitat of the Huascarán National Park.
      2. Stay away from the group to avoid unnecessary delays.
      3. For example, uprooting some plant from the PNH.
      4. Bring pets.

    11What to bring?

    Comfortable clothing for the cold, sunscreen, sunglasses, cap or hat, backpack or bag to carry things, water (preferably in a reusable bottle), cash to buy food on the way or some other need.

    12RECOMMENDATIONS

      1. Stay in Huaraz to condition your body for the altitude the day before the tour.
      2. Hydration and rest the day before your departure is important.
      3. Drinking coca tea will help against altitude sickness.
      4. Wear good footwear for your trekking, this way you will avoid injuries to your feet.
      5. Carry only what you need in your backpack.
      6. Your pace of walking to the viewpoint will be important, make it slow and steady to control your breathing.
      7. During the trek eat chocolates, this is converted into energy (glycogen) that will help you.
      8. We strongly recommend that you keep your trash in your backpack and place it in the containers upon your return.
