Huascarán National Park

Located in the central Peruvian Andes, in the so-called “Cordillera Blanca,” it is a natural jewel containing remarkable ecosystems and a wide range of endemic wildlife species. Its protection makes possible the preservation of the great biological diversity, not only within the protected area but also in the surrounding region. It boasts the highest snow-capped peak in the tropical Andes of Peru, Huascarán, at 6,768 meters above sea level.

> It is politically located in the provinces of Yungay, Huaraz, Carhuaz, Huaylas, Recuay, Bolognesi, Pomabamba, Huari, Mariscal Luzuriaga, and Asunción, in the Ancash Region of Peru.
